It Runs in the Family

Apparently my gift for making up words has been passed on to my oldest daughter, Trista.  While playing with her younger sister, Trista was trying to explain how they could not get hurt because they were playing pretend.  I think it was Care Bears they were playing, and Robina was concerned about the bad character, “Dark Heart,” hurting her.

“Don’t worry, Robi,” explained Trista.  ” We’re just pretending, so that’s not the real Dark Heart – it’s not  hurtiful or anything.

“Hurtiful:”  (adjective)  – causing  pain, especially in an intentional way.

Ah, that’s my girl!
