Project Purple, Day 12

An estimated 50,000 deaths occur annually from seizure-related causes like SUDEP ((Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), drowning and other accidents.

Yikes. When the fact of the day is a statistic you really wish you never knew, you look at your life and give thanks.

I’m thankful that my daughter has been seizure free for 2+ years.
I’m thankful that she happily takes her medicine sprinkled on whipped cream morning and night.
I’m thankful for an awesome Neurologist.
I’m thankful for his nurse Anna…she’s my favorite nurse ever.
I’m thankful for a supportive family.
I’m thankful for an audience that indulges my desire to increase awareness.
I’m thankful for my beautiful family.
I’m thankful for a LOT more, but we don’t want to be here all night…

And tonight, I’m thankful that I had a perfectly good excuse to eat out – CPK is donating 20% of your bill to the Hawaii Epilepsy Foundation
